ABLE seeks to provide fundamental knowledge about effective board leadership and access to training; support a vibrant network of members for sharing and learning; and foster a dynamic environment for recruitment of volunteers for board service. ACT is partnering again with Compass to provide strategy project grants to Alexandria nonprofits. Join us at our information session on May 12th to learn more about this partnership and how you can benefit from a Compass grant! Compass strengthens the capacity, effectiveness and sustainability of nonprofit organizations through pro bono strategic consulting. Compass recruits mainly MBA graduates from top business schools as volunteers for the consulting projects which run September through May. Compass offers three main service lines that all expose nonprofit leaders to valuable, re-useable management best practices: Board Development, Funding Strategies, and Strategic Alignment. This year, Compass has added a 2-year Strategic Planning option. Come hear about these grants from Suzanne Laporte, executive director of Compass and Bonnie Baxley, executive director of Community Lodgings and 2-time Compass grant recipient.
