The Giving Circle of Alexandria
The Giving Circle is a diverse group of women who are invested and engaged in their community. They believe that confronting the City’s high priority issues collectively and strategically is the best means to inspire social change. With an annual matching grant of $25,000, ACT has helped The Giving Circle increase their membership and impact around early childhood education. In 2009, ACT and The Giving Circle co-invested in a city-wide playgroup initiative to expand a collaborative playgroup model around the City.

Learn about all we have done over the past five years and how you can help ACT continue to better our community for decades to come. ACT for Alexandria helps people who care deeply about our extraordinary city to do the greatest good for those in need among us. The result, from one end of Alexandria to the other, is greater assistance for those who lack basic needs and preschool for their children...new supports to heal or prevent child abuse...and more powerful tools for those who yearn to build a new future or simply need a neighbor's helping hand today. ACT magnifies the difference each of us can make by: - directing generous donations of time and dollars to effective existing services - creating innovative and successful solutions from the "building blocks" of existing services - strengthening social service organizations so they an accomplish more with their always-precious resources ACT is raising the level of effectiveness in giving to our community so we can have the greatest impact on Alexandria's families and children.
